strangest things

I met my best buddy, Simon. His being here makes me sooooo happy. This is so ironic coz actually he's here for his grandpa's funeral (my deepest condolence, Mon..). Last Sunday, I was having dinner with my family celebrating my brother's birthday when Simon called. He picked me up at the restaurant and we took off to Starbucks.

After ordered a glass of nice coffee, we started to talk about lots of things, giving each other some up-dates. I've been waiting to tell my stories to him for quite some time, coz I think what I was having was HUGE!! That night I reported mine first then he revealed his and suddenly I felt so bad for being such a heartless bitch thinking that my problem is always the biggest. Apparently he is having a bigger, I mean BIGGER problem than me.

After a serious conversation that we usually never did, we came to a conclussion :
1. the number of evil and heartless people today is uncountable, and it's increasing the very second I write this blog.
2. things that used to happen olny in movies and soap operas have become certainly possible to occur in our real life.
3. things happened in our lives lately are terrible, and there's always a chance for them to become more and more horrifying.
4. we both found that we all desperately need to be more mature in terms of thoughts and attitude to be able to cope with situations stated above.

*sigh*

It was one long brain-exploiting and energy-consuming conversation.

I found one more thing that's quite relieving for me. I could be a blinded fool when it comes to loving somebody and I admit that what I've done back then was totally ridiculous. I was being non-sense and may have hurt some people badly. But it's all over now...

I remember a friend said: "Everybody could suffer from their own foolishness, but by consciously holding on to your common sense once again, you're considered healed from the disease..."

I'm meeting Simon again tonight. I have to see him before he fly back to Sidney tomorrow. I'll be missing him so much..

winner

I haven't post a blog about this.

Two weeks ago, commemorating 61st anniversary of my country's independence day, Summarecon -the company that I'm working for- held various competitions for all of it's employee from every business unit (Klub Kelapa Gading, Mal Kelapa Gading, Summarecon Kelapa Gading, Summarecon Serpong, Sentra Kelapa Gading, and Summarecon's office tower) . Actually they held this kind of event every year.

This was the second time I participate in the competition. Last year I participated as a member of KKG's team in the aerobic competition and won the gold medal. Considered as the key person of KKG's aerobic winning team (teeheehee...), this year they asked me to join the team again.

We had the best colour of uniform... ORANGE!! Eventhough I didn't like the idea of wearing short pants (made me looked disgusting) and that silly head band (made us looked like Ully Sigar Rusady... Hahahah..), I really did my best. I pushed myself to the limit, doing all the moves including those muscle breaking push-ups.

AND ONCE AGAIN, KKG'S TEAM WON!!!! 2 consecutive years... I can't hide it, I'm so proud of myself... Hahahaha... *behave behave*

Since each person was allowed to participate in two competitions, I definetely didn't want to waste the opportunity and joined the acapella team as well. We sang "Indonesia Pusaka" and "Stand By Me". The competition was really tough, all of the participants sang really good. But I think our team was SUPERB!! We got silver medal (runner up).

Knowing those facts, I officially declare myself as THE WINNER !!! Nyahahahaha !!
*louder and louder wicked laughs*

Disney Lantern Fun-tasy

Another exciting place to come to..

I heard about this lantern festival from my classmate, Pristina. She went there with her family, not forgetting her adorable son, Deaqon. As soon as she told me about it I couldn't wait to come and see this so called "disney's magical lantern festival" myself.

Yesterday, Debby and I decided to go. As usual it's only the two of us but since we are the perfect combination, we still had lots and lots of fun.

The ticket and stamps.. See that hairy thing? Hahaha.. It's Debby's hand!!

We arrived at 7 pm, it's dark already and lights of the lanterns are all switched on. They created the lantern from colorful fabrics and filled them with gleaming small bulbs. The results were AMAZING. They're so beautiful, made me wanna touch them few times. But every time I reached my hand to touch the lantern, the heat caused by the bulbs shocked me. That's actually why they made some kind of fence from ropes so the visitors couldn't come too close to the lanterns.

When we first stepped into the festival area, we saw this huge welcoming lantern. Too bad I couldn't get the full image.

Cinderella!! The most famous fairy tale ever... Don't you think? By the way I couldn't find her anywhere, maybe she's busy making out with her prince charming behind those bushes, so I thought Debby and I could take her place that night.

So here we are, two beautiful princess. Just walked out of our chariot, gracefully.. Haha..

***

We met Snow White there as well. The Seven Dwarfs kept her occupied the whole time. So we thought we just took picts with her friends from the forest. To do that, we had to jump over the fence and pose nicely in squat position.

***

Debby took pictures with Disney's 3 most legendary cast, Mickey, Minnie and Donald.

***

The most romantic couple ever... They were on a date when we got there.

Unexpectedly they asked us to join them on a double date.

In front of Mickey n Minnie's house after our double date.

***

Since there were just the two of us, we couldn't take picts together. We wanted to ask other visitors to take our picts, but we were too worry that the person would steal my camera and run away with it. Two over-paranoid girls.. After convincing ourselves for a while, we asked the first person to help us took picts, and nothing awfull happened. Everything went well. But before we were brave enough to let strangers held my camera, we tried to take our picts ourselves.

First attemp...

Second attemp...

Hmm.. Can't see the backgroud well, it's all our faces.. But we still looked nice.. Hehe... pathetic posers...

***

HAKUNA MATATA!! It's the Lion King's Family

Debby with hippos and flaminggo cabaret

***

It was so crowded there, so many kids running around and screaming. Lots of people gathered around the lantern and it was very difficult for us to get nice and "clean" image. Everybody wanted to take picts with famous lanterns like Chicken Little and friends. Hactic hactic !!

But we finally got the chance to pose with those kindergarten students of Oaks. This actually came from 2 different picts, mine and Debby's. My brother made it look like we both posed together. Thanks, Bro...

***

Giant lantern castle.. How long did it take them to build this?

***

Posed with Marlin, Nemo and Dory.

***

Pooh's Corner

***

Having good times posing with the whole OHANA from Lilo and Stich.

***

Last but not least and the best lanterns of all. Give it up for Lightning McQueen, Mater and Sally from CARS !! *applause*

***

Tired legs, oily face, sweating all over but I felt absolutely happy. From there we headed back to Kelapa Gading and met Albert for dinner at Ayam Goreng Keraton.
What a fun-tastic day!!

I proudly present... The DYNAMIC DUO IN BANDUNG!!

We were actually in the fitting room at Rumah Mode (one of the most visited factory outlet in Bandung), wearing tank tops we eventually decided not to buy, but at least we posed in those cute blue and maroon tanks. Teeheehee..

Me and Debby in Cipaku Indah Hotel. Nice and clean room, cool fresh air with 15% discount. What would be better than that?

Second pose, girls.. Perfect!

One shot in the car before we explored factory outlets in Dago...

Girl in the hood.. See the new hair color? What do you think?

We went to a dog breeder at Villa Gerbera. They had super cute puppies. We took these a month old shihtsu twins to pose with us. Aren't they super cute? I WANT ONE!!

Debby took this picture the first night we stay in Cipaku Indah. I was focusing my mind and eyes on the map, trying to find the way to places we wanted to go the next day. Look!! It's me without eyebrows!!

The last day in Bandung, before we checked out from Malya...(ugly bangs makes me looked moronic)

inspiration...

Doing nothing on this in-office holiday..
Sorted hundreds of passport photos of club members.
Ate big chunk of ketan-item cake (yummy!!)..
Tried so hard to ignore this annoying sore throat and headache..

Lack of inspiration lately. Don't know what to write or post. I really should start posting some nice pictures here...

Or maybe I should just enjoy myself being "topic of the month"...

*try to feel good about myself and to be less paranoid*

Bandung Trip

Yoo hoo!!

What a weekend!! I went to Bandung with my friends for 3 days (too bad Lissa didn’t join us on this trip, so practically I was with Debby all the time..). Didn’t have the time to do so many things we wanted to do, but still… We were dynamic duo and we had SO MUCH FUN!!

Here are some things that Debby and I considered as achievements during our trip:
1. I drove all the way to Bandung.
2. I changed my hair color (some reddish-brown-mahogany tone of color).
3. Debby dyed her hair for the first time.
4. Unintentionally got 15% discount for our room rate (haha…).
5. Debby went to Kampung Daun for the first time.
6. I bought a nice pair of shoes and earrings.
7. We found Puri Bambu (restaurant serves all kinds of pork.. hmmm...)
8. I was being a professional navigator the whole trip. I read the map and showed the way.
(No more saying: “women can’t read maps”. I just showed that women can do anything.
Yee ha!!)
9. Debby drove all the way back to Jakarta.

Hmm… there’s something odd but funny happened the last night we were there. Nevin, Selly, Anton, Cecilia, and two of Selly’s friend (forgot the names) were having dinner at The Valley. I decided not to go coz I had a terrible headache and Debby wanted to stay in the hotel with me. We were going to Cibadak to have some nasi campur or bakut but then we cancelled. We were too lazy to drive to Cibadak (approximately half an hour from our hotel). We drove by McD and decided to have our dinner there.

We ordered food and sat by the window/glass wall. We were eating and talking, using this crazy body language and all the sound effects needed to enhance the quality of our conversation, when I realized a bunch of guys sitting on the other side of the glass wall were checking on us. I ignored them and kept talking to Debby.

Then I finished my meal and wanted to clean my hands. One of the guys was washing his hands while I queued behind him. When he’s done washing his hands, I stepped closer to the wash basin and suddenly heard this guy mumbled. I stared at him making sure whether he was talking to me or not. Yup! He was talking to me but I didn’t heard what he said so I asked, “Apa, Mas? (Excuse me…)” Then he shockingly replied,”Saya cuma mau bilang bibir Mba seksi, udah gitu aja, Mba…(I just wanna say that you have sexy lips, that’s it…)”.

**WHAT KIND OF STATEMENT WAS THAT?!** -_-

Read the bold words in the Indonesian version. Apa maksudnya sich?!

**pernyataan super bodoh** -_-

I walked back to our table with this super cool-nothing happened-expression and told Debby about that guy. Debby laughed really loud and made some jokes about it. We waited till those guys entered their cars and set off, making sure they didn’t have another opportunity to meet us or talk to us outside McD, or even worse follow us to our hotel. Then we head back to our hotel room and continue chatting about silly unimportant things…

I will post the pictures soon…

Dear Debby,
At first I thought this weekend would be such a waste. But it turned out to be soooo exciting. Thank’s for making this trip a pleasure girl. Can’t wait for our next quest… Hahaha..

happy ending

Last night I was in the middle of class, trying so hard to concentrate on what the lecturer was explaining. And for me who works from 8 am to 3 pm and attend classes on 5 pm to around 9 or 10 pm, focusing my mind is not easy. Anyways… suddenly I heard the lecturer said something about happy ending.

My mind traveled back a few weeks ago when I was having a casual dinner with one of my best friend since high school. We were actually two desperate girls that got nothing to do on a lonely Saturday night. T-T

My best friend was broken hearted. Her world was destroyed when she caught her boyfriend red handed while he was with another girl. After that, my friend called him and they had a really serious conversation. She got the conclusion… a terrible one… guess… yup! This guy was really interested in this new girl, so they broke up. SHOOT!! They had been together for 5 freaking years and broke up just like that… Makes me shiver every time I think about it. Will I eventually be with a loyal guy who loves me and I love so much?

Well, I’m not gonna write more about that. So we were discussing about girls, guys and fate. Then she asked me this question “Jo, do you think God has specifically created somebody for each of us, right from the very start, way back before we were even born? And will everyone experience a happy ending eventually?”

*silently drink my hot cappuccino thinking so hard to answer the question*

Somehow I think that this life is sort of an RPG game. There are so many ways to choose, so many decisions to make, and the ending of the story depends so much on choices you make. It applied in our love lives too. I really believe that God has created a soul-mate for everyone. It’s just He hasn’t put the face yet. The choices you make will lead you to the person. Different decision could guide you to different person.

But whether everyone will eventually experience a happy ending with their soul-mate or not… I really don’t know and I guess we’ll never know…

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I remember reading a phrase printed on a chocolate paper wrap (You’ll tempted to open them one by one and read all different phrase on every wrapping and of course finally end up feeling so guilty for eating all the chocolate since you have nothing to wrap them again… hehe..)

Anyways, it says :
“Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worth while.”

Never regret that you love or had been in love with somebody cause to be able to love a person is a gift. And in times you feel that it was so stupid and ridiculous falling in love with them; you have to be happy cause it means you’re over them already…
