Okay... Sunday is a boring day at work so I write my posts on Sundays.
Last Friday I had this photoshoot session. Not a real magazine photoshoot or advetorial thing. Basically I was just helping my brother on his photography assignment. He and his friend had to take photos, and my brother decided to ask me to be their amateur model. When he told me about this project a week before the session, I was soooo excited. I love being photographed!! YIPPIE!!
My brother and his friend pick "sensual" for their project's theme, not my favorite theme actually. Coz if you notice all of my pictures, I use to smile or even show a really big grin on every picture.
That day, I started to get ready and put some make ups on at 9 o'clock in the morning. At 11, I, accompanied by my cousin, took off to the studio in my brother's campus, UNTAR. The parking building was full, but luckily we found 1 parking space on the first floor (it turned out to be a special parking space reserved for the lecturers, but who cares?! It was really hot outside and I couldn't wait to enter the cool studio... Can't live without aircon..).
I called my brother and he walk us to the studio. After a few basic directions about lighting, angle, and everything, there came the real photoshoot session.
I was trying soooo hard to follow the "sensual" theme. I've worked on my eyes, my lips, my hips, and did everything I could. Then came this man. My brother's senior on photography class. He suddenly took my bro's camera and looked at one of the frame. And he said, "It's not working man.. You didn't get the sensual side out of your sister. You have to search for the sensual part of the model, it might be the lips, the chest area, the tighs, etc."
After he said the last word, he took a glimpse on my-everything he said above, and with the "it's your problem" look on his face and his fake brown eyes, he continued,"Lu atur aja deh," then he left. WHAT?! Is he trying to say that every part of my body that had to be sensual was not? At that very second, I lost the excitement and went to the dressing room. He had my bad mood setting switched on. I hate him. I mean, come on!! I'm no professional model, not any of the models is. I've tried my best, OKAY?! Give some respect!
I was thinking of not coming back to the studio, but I saw my brother standing outside the dressing room with his desperate look and gave me the "come here, time's almost up" sign with his hand. Then I thought I came there to help my brother and I would not let him down. Screw the fake brown eyed man! I did some retouch, went back to the studio and tried harder.
Just seconds before the time was up, we finally got the best frame. "Brown eyes" looked at the frame and said, "You got it. It's Harper's Bazaar style. Good job!"
SEE?!! WE CAN DO IT!! Even just one frame, but WE DID IT!! NYAHHAHAHAHAH...TONG!!!
When I got home, we went through all the frames and found a few more of good frames. I'm happy because I can help my brother and on the other hand got a free photoshoot session. Their assignment will be scored in two weeks time. I'll post about that later on. AND I'll post the pictures right after I get them from my lil' bro.
All the best for you, Nyo (and Stefanus)!!
Cheers
