movie marathon day

Today I spent the whole day with Simon and Debby. We had been planning this movie marathon day for weeks. Each of us picked 2 movies that we think as a must see movie and we would spend all day watching those movies at my house. So we started the day going to the gym together and had noodles for lunch. Afterwards we went straight to my house and watched the first movie. It was “The Holiday”. My pick. I love the movie coz I feel that the two character in the movie (Cameron Diaz as Amanda Woods and Kate Winslet as Iris Simpkin) somehow had some kind of character similarity with Debby and me. By the way, it happened to be the only movie we watched today.

Instead, we found more interesting and exciting to do. Can you guess what it is? I bet you can’t. Somebody will definitely be humiliated if I open this up. But since I’ve got authorization directly from the person to publish this to the world. Can you tell who this person is?

THAT’S RIGHT!! It’s SIMON!! Yup, it was a moment of humiliation for Simon. We made him a dragqueen and we could say we did a great job. Too bad we didn’t have wigs or hair extentions to make him more ladylike. But as the artists, Debby and me really thought that today’s make over challenge is a success. Even Simon had the same thought. Hahaha!!

Maybe you'll get more picts from Simon's Blog.
Cheers!

dad's birthday dinner

Yesterday was my dad’s 55th birthday. We had a family dinner at The Kings Palace - Kelapa Gading. The food was yummy!! I love their “cakwe udang mayonnaise” so much!! They translate it into “prawn stuffed dough fritters with mayo”. It sounds funny somehow, doesn’t it?

Okay, talk no more. It’s time to let the pictures say the words…

That's the gift for my dad, from my brother and me. Do you like the wrapping? I did a great job, didn't I?! I love wrapping gifts. Next time if you need some help wrapping gifts for friends and family, please don not hesitate to contact me. But realise that you get nothing for free these days. Hahahah!!

I was sooo hungry that I forgot to take picts of the food. Sorry, guys! But I really miss family gatherings so I can say that last night was a simple yet wonderful birthday dinner... Happy 55th birthday to the best dad ever!! All the best for you!

Cheers

another boring day, another random topics

I feel low today. If you asked me what did I mean by “low”, I don’t know the answer, so don’t bother to ask, okay?

I don’t know what’s going on with me these past few days. It’s been mix feelings, more of laziness, boredom, loneliness, and lots of crazy things, fighting each other to get the first place inside of me, taking control of me. I did almost everything to drive them away but none of them worked. I’m still here with “these things”.

Anyways, I joined a fitness center on Wednesday. I want to lose another 5 to 6 kilos. I want to get back in shape. I don’t eat anything on dinner time except fruits. Hmm somehow I miss my strict diet menu.

Another too-late-news for you guys. I had my wisdom teeth removed last week. Am I using the right word “removed”? Pardon me if I’m wrong.

Wait wait!! Gosh I almost forgot, I have to attend our weekly meeting now. I’ll be back in… 3 hours, if I’m lucky.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m back after a long and frustrating meeting. I think I know for sure now that I hate my job. Nothing good was brought up as a highlight. I feel like bad things are happening to me right now. I lost the spirit and happiness of writing a post. I think I’m gonna stop here and now.

This is officially the worst day of the month.

9 clouds

Last Thursday my boss was invited to an event held by a lifestyle magazine, called Jakarta Java Kini. It was an award event for “Jakarta’s Best Bar 2007”. My boss asked me to go with her and I got the privilege to pick two persons to join us. I definitely picked Debby and Simon.

So Thursday night, we headed to 9 Clouds, one of the clubs in Menara Jamsostek. There were my boss, Bu Zay, me, Simon, Debby, and two of my co-workers, Iwan and Teddy in the car. When we arrived they gave us a free 9 Clouds membership card for each of us that we happily accepted. Then they informed that they served free flow beers, wines, and soft drinks. I looked and Simon and I saw his face shined with joy. I knew exactly what he was thinking. “Beers here I come!!” Hahaha!

Entering the main lounge, we saw gays, gays, and more gays! It’s true! Debby and me looked at each other with our definitely-not-for-us face and laughed. We had some beers and chat with a few people we know.

The event went okay. But what we enjoyed the most was cam-whoring. Haha!! Every time we saw a person walk by with camera, we without doubt gathered around and stroke our best pose. I took out my cell and went crazy with it.

From there we had our supper before we got back home. It was fun and we would definitely say yes to the next invitations.

Here’s what we’re really good at.

All of us

Teddy was taking the picture

Iwan was all over the place, here, there and everywhere

Girls (and Iwan... still trying to join us, the king of cam-whoring)

bandung blast may 2007 (part II)

I did come up with the idea of writing 2 posts of our trip to Bandung last weekend. I thought Simon would write about our first night and second day, and I would write the second night and third day. But apparently Simon has written the summary of our trip, so I think it doesn't matter anymore who write what.. So here's the story from A-Z...

We took off after work on Friday, it was 18.30. Kinda late for us to go actually, but we didn't care. The traffic was crazy!! And we started our journey with an empty stomach so it was sooo torturing for us. After not more than one hour, the traffic went normal and we stopped at Kentucky to have our dinner.

Long story short, we arrived in Bandung around 21 and we haven’t got a room to stay in. We went to some hotels and decided to stay at Cipaku. We took a shower (not together) and discussed our itinerary for the next day. After that we just talked about silly things, bitching people we know and we don’t know, and then fell asleep.

Simon got me took a picture in my "sleeping uniform" and without my make ups on

On the next day, we just went to factory outlets hunting for clothes and accessories. Well, shopping got the first priority on my list and Debby’s, but not on Simon’s. But, yes, you we all can say he’s one hypocrite person. He said shopping sucks, but he turned out to be the biggest spender. Btw, we moved to other hotel since Cipaku was fully booked for groups. We stay in Caryota, Sukajadi. We had lunch in the best all pork restaurant in Bandung, Puri Bambu. We had pork satays, pork ribs, roasted pork and fried pork. Oh yeah I almost forgot tahu pletok. Hmmm, yummy!!!

Tahu pletok

At Puri Bambu. The 1st pic is kinda creepy. Looks like the hand from "idle hand" joined us

On early evening, we set off to The Valley and on the way there, Simon bought me and Debby roses. Soooo sweet!!! Thanks Simon! We spent almost 5 hours at The Valley. We ordered Zuppa Zuppa for starter and I had the same drink with Simon, Valley Machiatto. Then we had grilled chicken and prawn and tenderloin steak for the main course. The food was super tasty. We didn’t stop talking to and cursing each other the whole time.

From there, Simon grabbed some beer in the nearest Circle K. We went back to the hotel still bitching about each other till we fell asleep. I got the most uncomfortable space on the bed. I slept between Debby and Simon. Debby slept like an acrobat circus performer, doing all the body bending and everything. Simon slept like a truck, went snoring all night. I was on the middle enjoying their ‘performance’ the whole night, so I got the least sleeping hour.

Last day at Caryota Hotel, after shower, ready to hit the road

Our last pose in front of Grande Factory Outlet

Last day, we bought cakes and snacks for our family and relatives. Oh yeah! I bought bandrek for Pipi. We hit some factory outlets, before we went back home. We had our dinner at Padang Raya Kelapa Gading.

It was really a blast. Great places, great food, but most of all, I get the greatest companions. Can’t wait for our next stop. BALI here we come!!
